Proper nutrition and supplementation is crucial for a healthy body and mind. Even for those that eat healthy foods, supplementation may be necessary to provide proper hormone balance, energy levels, and immune system support. Below are Amazon links to products that I have probably already recommended to you. Be aware these are Amazon Affiliate links, where I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, for recommending products from their site. Be sure to compare Amazon prices to the ones at my Fullscript online pharmacy. Fullscript often has better prices than Amazon. Sign up here to be able to order from my Fullscript pharmacy.

Supplements

  • Magnesium Spray by Ancient Minerals – This liquid magnesium, also called magnesium oil, in the form of magnesium chloride, is best absorbed through the skin. It helps with muscle cramps and tension. Spray on muscle and leave on for 15 minutes before wiping it off. May cause slight tingling sensation – just wipe off sooner if there is any discomfort. If you prefer a lotion, see the link below.
  • Magnesium Lotion by Ancient Minerals –  This magnesium is similar to the spray above but in the lotion form.
  • Castor Oil Roll On –   This helps to soften scar tissue and loosen restrictions in the connective tissue. Great to put on the tummy with a heating pad during menstrual cramps or on any healed scar where there are limitations in movement.

Tools for Muscles

  • TENS Unit – this is a small, portable, battery operated transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) device to treat pain. I highly recommend everyone have one at home. This is just the unit that I bought many years ago. There are many other ones that are as good. You don’t have to buy this exact model, I just wanted to get you in the right place to find one.
  • Cervical Traction Device – this is a super easy and very affordable tool to use daily to provide traction for the neck for some pain relief.
  • Neck Stretcher Traction Device – this tool is very useful to restore the natural curve of the cervical spine by using daily. I love how soft and cushion-y it is (as well as how cute it is! : ) )
  • Neck Stretcher Traction Device – this is another tool very similar to the one above without the cuteness. Helpful for restoring the natural curve of the cervical spine by using daily.
  • Silicone Cupping Set – These cups are easy to use on yourself – they don’t require a pump and have a variety of sizes for neck pain and larger muscles on the shoulders.
  • Plastic Cupping Set – This is a rather large set but this is the brand that I like. It uses a pump to generate the suction. It takes a little practice, especially if you are cupping your own back or shoulders, but works really well.
  • Wu Yang Herbal Patches – These herbal patches are similar to Salonpas patches but with Chinese herbs. I have found them to be very effective for stubborn pain or muscle strains that won’t let up. They come in large adhesives patches that you can cut into whatever shape or size you need for a specific muscle. I always have these in my medicine cabinet at home. Do not use if you are have sensitivities to Band Aids or other adhesives.

Moxa and Acupuncture Supplies

  • Moxa Sticks – these are great for warming up muscles, strengthening the immune system, and alleviating painful menstrual cramps.
  • Moxa Heat Packs – these are heat packs filled with moxa (mugwort) that are activated by shaking the pack. Wonderful for low back pain or menstrual cramps or any area of discomfort that needs a bit of warmth. They get VERY hot and stay hot for ~24 hrs so do not place directly on skin – wrap it in a towel before placing directly on the body.
  • Ear Seeds on Amazon – these are tiny stickers with vaccaria seeds attached that stimulate the acupuncture points, usually on the ear, but also on points on the rest of the body.
  • Ear Seeds through my website/at my office – I use ear seeds for almost all patients so I always have some at my office for your convenience.
  • Ear Seed Kits – these kits are great to target a specific condition, like insomnia, stress, pain, etc with charts showing the acupressure points.
  • Ear Seeds with Bling – if you want to make a fashion statement, these seeds are 24 Karat Gold Plated Ear Seeds made with Swarovski Crystals.
  • Eden Botanical Essential Oils – This is where I get my Bergamot FCF. I love this company and the tiny samples they give you for free for every $20 you spent.
  • Snow Lotus Essential Oils – This company is founded by an acupuncturist, Peter Holmes. His blends are wonderful and effective from a Chinese Medicine perspective.
  • Monara Essential Oils – This company is founded by an acupuncturist and one of my aromatherapy teachers, Tiffany Carole. She has a special, diluted line called Blue Dolphin for use with children.
